Rend Lake is located in Southern Illinois in the counties of Franklin and Jefferson. It is the second largest inland impoundment in Illinois. It was built by the U.S. army corps of engineers in 1971. This huge lake has rapidly become one of the more popular recreation lakes in Illinois. It offers excellent fishing, camping, boating and a professional 27-hole golf course.
